Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: Choose Your Path

Mabel Lum/04 October 2018

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is coming out! There are a couple of interesting features that we’re looking forward to and here’s some of our thoughts on this new game.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey places more focus on role-playing elements than previous games in the series. In Odyssey, there are dialogue options, branching quests, and multiple endings. So, let’s go for an adventure across 100 of quests, location and dynamic events!

Set in the year 431 BCE, the plot tells a fictional history of the Peloponnesian War. We are able to choose between controlling a mercenary for either Athens and the Delian League or the Peloponnesian League, led by Sparta.

Peace Or War

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is an interactive story where we get to choose our own dialogue with the multiple choice of response given. It allows us to roleplay between adventures, we are able to lie, betray or be the hero which makes all the rightful heroic decision.

Every decision you make will impact the character, world and outcome of the adventures. And of course, you can choose to play both, the villain or the hero as they have multiple game endings. So, choose your response wisely, because you never know what sort of consequences they may have down the line.

As a Libra myself, I understand the pain when it comes to decision making, especially the ones that have a limited time frame. So I would usually decide who I want to be first and replay the whole story to achieve a different ending.

For the first time ever, we will be able to choose the gender of the main character, adopting the role of Alexios or Kassandra. And also having the ability to develop romantic relationships with non-playable characters regardless of genders. #Rainbow

However, the characters are not customizable and they both have the same stories. It will be great if they can develop different stories for both characters so that it will be refreshing like having a tic tac in your mouth.

I am so going to be Queen Gorgo from the film 300! With her political judgment and wisdom, I WILL rule Greece with hundreds and thousands of Spartans under me!

Hilarious Sparta Kick

Any gamers actually looking for something like this? I never would have thought of using Sparta Kick as a combat ability in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

The insert of Sparta Kick is actually quite funny. You can use it on animals… which makes it unrealistic and pretty comical.

Sending an enemy flying off just by kicking them looks plainly ridiculous to some serious gamers. You won’t have to equip this ability if it doesn’t suit your combat style. To me, I find it amusing and easier to get the enemies off of me to a distance. I’m pretty sure the developers have a reason for designing such an unrealistic kick but it just takes the realism away from me.

The All Mighty Season Pass

By the way, there is a season pass, where you can get to play 2 massive story arc which includes a total of 6 episodes that will let us dive deeper into the lore of Assassin’s Creed and the famous Greek myths. Sadly, 3 episodes will only be released every 6 weeks in December 2018 and Spring 2019.

Also included in the SEASON PASS:

  • The Games: Assassin’s Creed III REMASTERED and Assassin’s Creed Liberation REMASTERED
  • The bonus mission: The Secrets of Greece available on Day 1

That’s it for this quick update on Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. It’s coming out on 5 October and we are so excited to get our hands on it! Stay tuned for more in-depth game review.
